A meditation on the sensuality and tactility of sound.
Three experiences from a visit to France in 1997 remain imprinted in my mind, leaving their traces in this work: the vast, almost abstract, Nymphéas murals by Monet in l'Orangerie gallery of Paris; the different church bells in the small hill villages of Provence; the dazzling, shimmering whiteness and sublime silence of the Mer de Glace, Mont Blanc, as seen suspended in a small cable-car, hundreds of feet above.
